About Us
It began with an individual’s desire to create high-quality products using durable materials and innovative processes. After spending over 20 years in the hardwood flooring business, Michael knew his endless ideas and creative pursuits demanded a new outlet. A self-starter, he taught himself how to program and use the CNC machine, laser engraver, UV printer and expanded his knowledge on painting and finishing techniques. While doing this, Michael found a talent and passion for engineering small parts and joined a maker space where he was exposed to the world of tap handles. He worked at a start-up creating tap handles, exploring all facets of the handle-making process. Appalachian Taps delivers high-quality tap handles where each customer is treated with equal importance.
While Michael devotes his time to R&D, prototyping and production, Holly will focus on Operations and managing each order from inception to completion. She obtained her Project Management Professional certificate in 2019 while working at Nike as a Material Innovator in the Advanced Innovation department. She has a keen eye for materials with a focus on sustainability.

We will bring your design to life using tap-nologies, cutting edge manufacturing processes and quality, long-lasting materials. We will expedite both a 3-D rendering and prototype for your approval after which you can start placing orders (50 handle MOQ).

Not ready to take the plunge on custom handles? We offer starter handles to help you get your craft on tap. One shape, available in short or tall size painted white. We print your design on the front and back sides (50 handle MOQ).
